Post Your Pandemic

Want to participate in a worldwide art project? Post Your Pandemic!

Post Your Pandemic is a postcard project and exhibition hosted by Access Arts. Portions of the project and exhibition will exist both online and in-person at a later date. The goal of Post Your Pandemic is to encourage our community to express their unique experiences in a creative way during a time of unprecedented uncertainty for all of us.

We also want to provide a little cheer to our community, especially for those of us who may be stuck inside with very limited personal interactions. We believe art is the universal language that unites us all, and it is more important than ever in times of uncertainty.

Project Specifics:

-This project is for any age, and any ability level. We want to see YOUR unique experience! Let’s see how many unique voices we can bring together!

-The bulk of this project will exist online (and through the mail), to allow for as many participants as possible, regardless of your personal circumstances. We welcome participation from near and far! Please share this project with anyone you feel may benefit.

-Regardless of what level of participation you choose, this is a postcard project, so we ask you to adhere to the standard postcard size: 3.5 x 5 inches (minimum) 4.25 x 6 inches (maximum).

-We have included a deadline as part of this event page to help keep participants motivated, but please be aware the deadline may be extended. When you complete your postcard(s) all we ask is that you take a picture of your postcard and post it to this event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/881212355633858/?active_tab=about) for others to see and enjoy. Supplies:

Baby wipes, Rubber bands, washable markers

Steps

First, pinch the center of the baby wipe and hold it in your hand. Then, twist and add rubber bands wherever you'd like. Use markers to color sections of the baby wipe wherever you'd like. Make a Sandpaper Crayon Shirt

Supplies Needed:

Crayons, a T-shirt, an Iron, Cardboard, A paper towel, and Sandpaper

Steps:

Color any design on the sandpaper. Keep in mind the the image will be reversed. When you're done with the drawing, go back over with another coat of your crayons. Place a piece of cardboard inside the shirt so the crayon doesn't bleed through the back of the shirt. Place a paper towel over the drawing, under the iron and hold the iron down (on the cotton setting) for 30 seconds. Gently lift one edge to make sure it's transferring well before fully removing the iron.
